Hypertufa

Hypertufa is an artificial stone material that is made of several different aggregates and mixed with portland cement. It is much lighter than cement but can still withstand harsh weather conditions. It is primarily used as garden art and is fairly easy and fun to make. So are you ready girls we’re going to get down and dirty and have some fun. We’re all creating our own hypertufa so here’s your chance to show your real imagination when it comes to container gardening. Please note that the date of this meeting has been changed to a Saturday, due to the mess once can make doing this we will be doing it outdoors at one member’s home. We will meet in the morning and it should take a while to do. A fee will apply

The Colorful World of Hydrandgeas

This month we will be doing something a little different than in the past. When one rides down to the cape these days what do we see on the back roads, yes, you are right “Hydrangeas”. Over the past few years hydrangeas have taken over our gardens and every year there seems to be a new one. This monthe we are having Joan Harrison from the Cape Cod Hydrandgea Society come in and speak to us on hydrangeas, the different types there are today and how easy it is to propagate one from a friends garden etc. Joan is the author of “The Colorful World of Hydrandgeas” which she published in 2009 so who better to ask questions to than Joan Harrison.
